CGBIO (CEO Hyun Seung Yu), a specialized bio-regenerative medicine company, announced on the 5th that it has donated EASYFOAM, a non-adhesive foam dressing pads used for wound management, for the treatment of recent earthquake victims in Cianjur, Indonesia, with WOCARE(Wound Ostomy Continence Care), Indonesia’s association of nurses specializing in wound and intestinal incontinence.
The donation was made to help treat the wounds of the victims who suffered a 5.6-magnitude earthquake in Cianjur, West Java Indonesia, which caused 321 deaths, about 8,000 injuries and 70,000 refugees. The donated items were quickly delivered to emergency relief tents in Cianjur and used to treat acute wounds of the injured.
EASYFOAM is composed of a semi-permeable polyurethane film and a polyurethane foam layer that absorbs exudates. The polyurethane film controls moisture evaporation with its semi-permeability while the polyurethane foam absorbs exudates, thereby keeping the wounded area moist, which not only protects the wounded area but also helps the rapid healing and prevention of scars.
In particular, EASYFOAM can be used for cuts, grazed areas, abrasions, burns(first~second degree), surgical spears, and diabetic ulcers, thus widely usable for various acute wounds caused by the earthquake.
CGBIO has steadily contributed to improving the treatment environment in Indonesia. In 2019, it conducted a medical volunteer work for 1,000 Indonesian firefighters, and in 2021, it delivered relief supplies such as protective clothing, masks, and moisturizers for burn treatments to 13 medical staffs at 7 hospitals in Indonesia.
“I deeply empathize with the pain of Indonesia from this earthquake. I hope that the donation of EASYFOAM could comfort and help the residents of Cianjur suffering from the earthquake. We will continue to actively support the improvement of public health and treatment environment in Indonesia,” said Hyun Seung Yu, CEO of CGBIO.
